True Woman’s Study

This eight-week course is a deep study of remembering what it means to be a woman from way back before.

Before the limitation, before the proscribed way, before.

Remember the potency of YOU. This begins your journey home.

February 8 - March 29, 2025 from 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. Birmingham address provided with purchase.

The first two classes are free. And, if you choose you can join me at a drum circle afterwards.

This class will be in-person in Birmingham, Alabama. If you are far from Birmingham, email me and let’s talk about remote options.

This is a great way to awaken the special women in your life.

Each class is 75 - 90 minutes, there is homework and practices with each class. The classes will reflect adjustments in order to move with the cycles of the moon and eclipses. Week 1: Self Realization:

Introductions & the beginning of expressing your soul. Poetry, writing, painting of your soul. Who are you and what has been the journey of your life? I will provide

Homework: Session 1 of Sobonfu’s work. The chapter is entitled. Offering Your Gift to the World. Write and contemplate the prompts.

Week 2: What is the purpose of your life? Who is your community? How would it feel to have a community that supports you exactly as you are? What would you keep? What would you add? What would you release?

Practice: Finding that voice within

Homework: Session 2 of Sobonfu’s work. The chapter is entitled Women’s Mysteries.

Week 3: What does it mean to be Woman?

Comparison of indigenous culture’s celebration of women’s cycles to current western ways. What of their expression do you want in your own? What surprised you? How did it feel? Is there something to grieve? What wisdom do you keep and share?

Introduction to Ritual & Connection with Earth.

Practice: Art & Expression of woman

Homework: Session 3 of Sobonfu’s work. The chapter is entitled Relationships. List the 10 most important relationships in your life.  

Week 4: Conflict & Relationship

Discussion of conflicts & the self. How do you find yourself or loose yourself in disagreement? How do you come into relationship with yourself – what does that even mean? Where are the places unspoken that you want to speak?

Practice: Poetry writing.

Homework: Session 4 of Sobonfu’s work. The chapter is entitled Reclaiming Your Feminine Power  

Week 5: Body is Power

An exploration of body images, beliefs and true potency.

Body & Power centers. What did you learn about your body? How does it contribute to your self-appreciation. What is your unique body’s power?

Practice: Yin Yoga

Homework: Session 5 of Sobonfu’s work. The chapter is entitled: Ritual the Gateway to Spirit

Week 6: Ritual

Ritual is the connection between self, community and the ancestors – the higher powers that be. Ritual provides strength, inner knowing and connection with the deeper realms of life all around us. 

Practice: Development & Practice of a Communal Ritual

Homework: Session 6 of Sobonfu’s work. The chapter is entitled: Finding Intimacy with Death

Week 7: Letting Go

Discussion of letting go & holding on. How has Practice: Voice – speaking your truth. that impacted your life? What does it mean to let go?

Practice: Writing practice

Week 8: Return to Self

Closing session. An honoring of your journey to more of you through art and expression. What has changed and what remains? Who are you?
